Experience

José Luis Vega Garrido is a partner with almost 15 years of experience who is responsible for the firm’s German Desk. He is a law graduate from Universidad Panamericana from a combined program in conjunction with the University of Southampton. He has a diploma in contracts from ITAM and has taken several ICC courses in international trade, specifically in INCOTERMS, letters of credit and contracts for the international sale of goods.

He is the National Representative of the International Association of Young Lawyers, the only global association dedicated to lawyers under 45 years of age, founded in 1962 and based in Belgium. To learn more about AIJA, you can visit its official website https://www.aija.org.

Highlights

Part of his experience has been as part of the negotiating team for the contract to remodel 77 hydrocarbon storage terminals for PEMEX Procurement International, as well as working in the supply chain for the Mexican energy sector. He has also represented companies engaged in the commercialization of measuring instruments and packaging for the food industry.

He has also advised clients in various transactions with Nissan, Mazda, BMW, General Motors, VW and Audi. His varied transactions also include coordinating and advising on a $400 million dollar equity funding transaction for PEMEX and CFE projects, as well as advising the coordinator of the shadow operator for the Tren Maya and as part of the advisory team for the development of a wind farm with a capacity of 114 megawatts.

In infrastructure projects, he has advised clients in the installation and subsequent expansion of industrial plants in various areas of Mexico, as well as in railway projects for the operation of passenger trains.

He was also one of the lawyers in charge of conceiving the legal strategy for Nike’s distribution contracts for teams such as Bayern Munich, América, League 1, Ederdivisie, Juventus and Manchester United.
